What you’ll be doing:

This highly visible Business Development Director will be focused on prospecting and closing new Facility Solutions business for the Commercial/Industrial Real Estate market, supporting Building Service Contractors (BSCs) and Property Management.  You will aggressively pursue targeted Strategic Account opportunities worth $750K+ nationally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing business development sales strategies to move targeted prospects to active opportunities while positioning Staples Facility Solutions as the preferred solution for decision makers and influencers of target opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other members of the Sales Team on Strategic Account opportunities to secure contractual relationships with customers and ultimately secure the business.
  • Providing guidance on RFPs/RFIs, pricing strategy, legal agreements and CPE’s.
  • Supporting deviations at GPO, IDN, Commercial Consortiums and local levels when needed.
  • Building customer-facing presentations and preparing pricing proposals.
  • Engaging in customer meetings and presentations when necessary.
  • Managing large, assigned GPOs and IDNs, including pricing, deviated costs, maintenance, business reviews, renewals, and more.
  • Supporting and training local Sales team members that support the IDN’s local sites.
  • Continually educating yourself in the Environmental Services (EVS) space.

  • Strong business acumen and customer focus.
  • Excellent communication and superior negotiation skills.
  • High level of personal maturity and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to confront difficult issues and inspire others to embrace a course of action.
  • Skilled in business analytics with the ability to make financial and fact-based decisions.
  • Superior presentation skills and demonstrated team-building skills.
  •  Practical knowledge of the full Office Suite of products.
  • Understanding industry-specific dynamics within the CRE/BSC space.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience working with large complex sales opportunities.
  • 5 + years of industry experience and connections.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

Direct experience working with Building Service Contractors and Property Management.
