What you will be doing:

As an HR Business Consultant at Staples, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our HR Directors and partnering with business leaders to drive success across multiple units. You’ll collaborate to develop strategic HR solutions that enhance business performance, and provide expert guidance on organizational design, talent development, change management, and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with HR partners and business leaders to understand strategic goals and develop HR solutions that drive business performance
  • Providing support and guidance on organizational design, change management, talent development, and workforce planning
  • Analyzing HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and recommending data-driven solutions
  • Supporting key HR projects such as performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated HR services and programs
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Mentoring less experienced HR staff and facilitating resolution of complex employee relations issues
  • Operating with autonomy, making significant decisions in ambiguous situations, and serving as a voice of the business to HR Centers of Excellence

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results
  • Proven experience in HR policies, procedures, and practices
  • Knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and familiarity with HR analytics dashboards

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent work experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR position 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations
  • Experience in a global or multi-site environment
