What you’ll be doing:
The Senior Product Manager will join a growing Digital team tasked with planning, managing and operating SPP Commerce platform and internal applications for merchandising, pricing management tool and special order. Focus will be delivering functionality that will accelerate growth while preserving the established revenue streams. This person will be responsible for defining a best in-class shopping experience and ability for customers to transact. This person will be responsible to define process that help the associates work efficiently and effectively to be able to launch initiatives for our customers. This is a key role, and position requires subject matter expertise, strategic mindset, and deep collaboration with cross functional teams. This Senior Product Manager will drive the product vision, build a strategy that connects the current state of the business to the desired state, and executes on an iterative, agile cadence. This will require internal collaboration, external collaboration, and cross-functional partnership with key stakeholders. This person will take ownership of their respective roadmap initiatives, deliver new product features that create value, and communicate the status and success of these accomplishments on a regular basis. A deep understanding of current customer trends, existing problems, and defining areas of opportunity are crucial to the success of this role. Data analysis and interpretation of metrics will be part of the regular cadence, and play an intricate role in defining the short and long-term roadmap. The purpose of this role is to bring world-class e-commerce expertise to the online businesses, drive an increase in profitability, and reduce the consumer adoption curve.
What you bring to the table:
- Defining the product vision by customer segment
- Drive the strategic vision and execution for the maturation of identifying leads, converting leads to customers, and customers to loyal and frequent shoppers by:
- Documenting clear requirements that address all customer and/or business use case
- Prioritizing features and function based on a customer input or strategic value.
- Collaborating with other product management associates and business stakeholders to define and deliver key milestones, on a recurring basis
- Collaborating with both internal and external third parties to build the capabilities needed to deliver necessary experiences that move the needle
- Collaborate and socialize the near, mid and long-term capabilities strategy, which requires analyzing industry trends, customer needs, rationing stakeholder requests, and aligning technology configurations
- Build strong internal relationships across all business and product units, especially merchandising, content, customer data, and the transactional capabilities teams
- Collaborating with customers and understanding their brand, system requirements and usability needs. Delivering and demoing features and functions that will be added to their sites.
- Collaborating with International partners – conveying requirements that will need to be implemented in their sites, validating partners deliverables, and driving uniformity between sites.
- Exceptional oral and written skills, including the ability to explain complex situations, simply
- Demonstrated track record of strong execution and experience partnering with technical teams to deliver results using Agile methodologies
- Front-end web experience within website navigation and onsite search and browse
- Search Engine Optimization and data science learning
- High level knowledge of the Staples Promotional commerce and backend systems
- Customer-centricity with a proven track-record to deliver quality products that meet business goals
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in ecommerce or backend product management.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Track record of executing the product model through agile delivery
