The Director of Private Equity Partnerships is responsible for driving incremental sales growth by partnering with internal stakeholders, GPOs, and private equity firms to sell into their portfolio companies (Portcos). This role will develop and execute strategies to penetrate PE-backed prospects, inform and train sellers supporting GPO and PE relationships, and ensure the company meets revenue and profit objectives. The position requires strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior executives both internally and externally.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with PE firms, GPOs, and their portfolio companies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and penetrate PE-backed prospects and maximize revenue within GPO/PE networks.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, business development, and category teams to drive successful sales strategies and ensure contract compliance.
  • Provide training and direction to sales teams on PE/GPO initiatives, opportunities, and strategies to expand the account base.
  • Guide RFPs/RFIs, pricing strategy, legal agreements, and custom program development for PE/GPO accounts.
  • Monitor business and market trends to inform and adapt sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to report on sales performance, contract compliance, and rebate/pricing opportunities.
  • Deliver presentations and business reviews to PE firms, GPOs, and Portcos to demonstrate value and progress.

What’s needed – Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales within Private Equity, GPO, or related sectors (i.e. Financial Services).
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex customers and selling to C-Suite level stakeholders.

  • Business and leadership experience with industry connections
  • High level of personal maturity and emotional intelligence
  • Skilled in business analytics and financial decision-making
  • Demonstrated team building and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of supply chains and other business lines; healthcare sector experience and terminology
