Role Summary
The Sr Analyst, Asset Protection supports and advances enterprise shrink mitigation and inventory integrity programs, with a primary focus on external cargo loss, internal 4-wall shrink, and overall inventory accuracy. Reporting to the Manager of Shortage Control, this role is a key analytical and operational partner to Asset Protection Field Managers, Fulfillment & Delivery Operations teams, and Customer Service Management. The Sr Analyst delivers high-quality, data-driven insights to identify loss drivers, compliance gaps, and operational risks, and recommends corrective actions to reduce shrink exposure and improve inventory accuracy.
Asset Protection Programs & Investigative Acumen: Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Asset Protection and shortage control programs, including cycle count compliance and investigative tools. Supports investigations and program execution while maintaining discretion and adherence to established policies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support Asset Protection and Shortage Control initiatives related to cargo loss, 4-wall shrink, and inventory inaccuracies, leveraging advanced analytics and insight-driven recommendations.
- Analyze shrink trends, operational variances, and exception data to identify root causes and emerging risks across fulfillment and delivery environments.
- Ensure routine cycle count programs are completed on schedule, validate compliance results, and escalate recurring gaps or systemic issues with recommended corrective actions.
- Monitor adherence to shortage control routines and operational controls, document findings, and support action planning.
- Leverage business intelligence and analytics tools to identify outliers, define loss drivers, and quantify shrink exposure; translate findings into actionable insights for leadership and field partners.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scorecards, and reporting packages that track shrink performance, compliance, and key risk indicators.
- Support shortage and loss investigations by synthesizing operational data, inventory movement, compliance signals, and investigative findings.
- Provide guidance, documentation, and analytical support to Asset Protection Associates and operational partners, including training materials and best-practice reinforcement.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate analysis, identify patterns, and summarize insights while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a natural curiosity to understand root cause. Shrink & Loss Analytics: Applies advanced analytical techniques to identify shrink drivers, cargo loss trends, and inventory inaccuracies. Independently interprets complex data, isolates root causes, and translates findings into actionable recommendations that reduce loss exposure.
- Ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across functions and levels. Business Intelligence & Reporting: Designs, maintains, and enhances dashboards, scorecards, and analytical reporting to monitor shortage control performance and compliance. Partners with data teams to improve data quality, automation, and insight usability.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, especially when translating data into insights. Cross-Functional Influence & Collaboration: Builds effective working relationships with Asset Protection Field Managers, Fulfillment & Delivery Operations, Customer Service, and data partners. Influences outcomes through fact-based insights, clear communication, and collaborative problem-solving without direct authority.

What’s Needed – Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, Criminal Justice, Operations, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 2+ years of relevant analytical or operational experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Inventory Control, Supply Chain, or Operations.
- Experience using analytics or BI tools to analyze trends and produce recurring reports or dashboards.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, look-ups, data validation, filtering).
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to document findings and recommendations clearly.
What’s Needed – Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative, analytical, or operations-focused discipline.
- Experience supporting shrink mitigation, cargo loss, 4-wall shrink, or shortage control programs.
- Experience with cycle count programs, inventory adjustments, and compliance monitoring in fulfillment or distribution environments.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with investigative methods and tools (e.g., exception analysis, CCTV review where authorized).
- Experience collaborating with data engineering or BI development teams to improve reporting and data quality.
- Working knowledge of fulfillment, delivery, or supply chain operations and their impact on inventory accuracy.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
