The Associate Manager of Promotional Strategy is a highly visible Ecommerce role that ensures key offers and messages come to life across the Staples.com website and all marketing vehicles.  You will do this by understanding seasonal themes and priorities, working with Merchandising to prioritize top promotions, and ensuring a broad cross-functional team has the information they need to deliver the right messages to our customers.  You will also work closely with our retail partners to drive consistent, omni-channel promotions.

A person who is successful in this role will ensure seamless execution of our Go-to-Market (GTM) plans and influence cross-functional partners on prioritizing promotional messages.         

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinate execution of the GTM plan by managing deadlines and promptly communicating any changes to Site, Marketing & Merchandising teams.
  • Utilize project management software to prioritize top promotions & messages across various marketing vehicles. 
  • Work directly with vehicle owners to review wireframes and ensure plans align with overall Staples.com GTM plan. 
  • Partner with Retail Promotions team to align on joint offers and establish priorities for the Staples App homepage.
  • Maintain “Top Promo” calendar for leadership & Finance to reference and understand upcoming plan.
  • Provide project management support to both the Promotions & Seasonal Planning teams for key events (i.e. Black Friday).
  • Provide analytical support by reviewing financial trends, promotional performance and site metrics.
  • Execute the existing process but continually identify and roll-out opportunities to streamline.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational/project management skills, process oriented, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Work effectively with cross functional partners with competing interests
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Business acumen and an understanding of financial performance metrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What’s Needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA or BS or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in ecommerce, marketing, or merchandising
  • Experience using Adobe Workfront
  • Experience using analytical reporting & tools
