Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, operations, and team development.
Ensure that the store culture embodies Staples values and its commitment to the community
Execute operational responsibilities, such as In Stock For the Customer, planogram integrity, and inventory management
Promote a consultative and customer centric environment primarily for the small business customer
Empower your team to learn, grow and deliver through coaching and inspiring a culture of exceptional service, consultative selling and total solutions
Drive profitable sales and margin by fostering a sense of urgency in others to achieve their work
Assist in associate development and lead a team committed to operational excellence
Share responsibility for the “Manager on duty” program and all Sales driving initiatives
Be flexible on responsibilities (e.g., cleaning, stocking shelves, other duties as assigned)
Essential skills and experience:
Able to work a flexible overnight schedule based on the store’s needs
2+ years store management experience in a retail environment or service industry
Experience leading a team and/or supervising others
Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
Collaborate and work with other team members
Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
Preferred skills and experience:
A clear understanding of merchandising and retail operations
