What you’ll be doing:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our API Management platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices, automation, and API management and development. This role involves working closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of APIs, as well as the automation of various processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
What you bring to the table:
- Design, implement, and maintain the API Management platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for the automated deployment of APIs and related services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate APIs into the platform and ensure they meet performance and security standards.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, or similar.
- Assist in the implementation of API Ops capabilities and the evangelizing of self-service to the API development teams.
- Evangelize API centric and API first development practices within the development community.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the API Management platform, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Ensure the security of the API Management platform by implementing best practices for API security, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication mechanisms.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for API-related issues, working closely with development and operations teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps, API management, and automation.
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on automation.
- Strong knowledge of API design standards, patterns, and best practices, including Swagger and OpenAPI.
- Hands-on experience with API management platforms such as Azure APIM, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience developing with modern development languages like Java, Javascript, or Ruby.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of API security standards and implementation, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OpenID1.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for APIs.
- Hands on experience with containerization orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Kubernetes based DevOps tools like ArgoCD and FluxCD
